Greetings, Saluki fans! If you’re here, you share my passion for Southern Illinois University sports. As an SIU graduate (Class of 2005) and a former reporter for The Southern Illinoisan, I know firsthand how special the SIU athletic community is.
I also know how hard the SIU sports information team works to bring fans the stories and updates they crave. Their dedication to showcasing our athletes and programs is unmatched, and they provide a vital service for Saluki Nation.
But as our media landscape changes, there’s room for more voices and perspectives. That’s where The UnderDawg comes in.

Our mission is simple: Provide an independent, in-depth look at our teams. We’re here to be your go-to source for game analysis, athlete features, and insider stories that go beyond the official narratives.
